Troubleshooting

A game code isn't working.

Do this if you purchased an individual escape room ↓

1. Double-check the code against your PDF. Find the original PDF you received after purchase and compare the codes carefully, character-by-character.

2. Contact me. If the codes match and it still isn't working, email me.

Do this if you have a Dingo Punks account ↓

1. Double-check the code. Compare it carefully, character-by-character.

2. Make sure the escape room is still active. Shared escape rooms expire after 14 days. Log into your account, open the Shared tab, and look for the escape room. If it isn't there, re-share it from your Library to generate a new code.

3. Try a new game code. If the escape room is still active but the code isn't working, click the X on it in the Shared tab, then re-share it from your Library. This will generate a new code for your students.

4. Contact me. If you've tried these steps and it still isn't working, email me.

My school or district blocked the site.

Ask your school or district IT department to add dingopunks.com to their list of approved sites. In the meantime, one popular option is to open the game on a personal device and mirror or cast it to your classroom smart TV or projector for whole-class play.

The site is loading slowly or not at all.

Start by checking your internet connection and making sure you’re using an up-to-date browser. Refreshing the page, closing unnecessary tabs, and checking that your device isn’t in a low-power mode can also help. If the problem continues, contact me directly and I’ll help you fix it.

I can't find an escape room I purchased.

First, check your inbox for an email titled “Your Dingo Punks Download.” Your PDF should be attached there. If you still can’t find it, contact me and I’ll help restore your purchase.

I found a bug or glitch

Please contact me and let me know what went wrong. The more detail you can include, the faster I can track it down and fix it. It helps to include:

  1. If you're on the Starter plan, the All-Access plan, or neither
  2. The escape room you were playing
  3. What happened, and what you expected to happen
  4. Your device and browser
  5. A screenshot, if possible

Getting Started

How do you play Dingo Punks?

1. Split up. Decide if your students will play individually, in teams of 2-5, or as a whole class. Give each team one device, scratch paper, and a pencil, then have them enter your game code at play.dingopunks.com.

2. Set up. Have each team follow the on-screen setup, then press Start. A short cutscene will introduce the story and start the escape room. The game is on!

3. Play. Teams must complete a series of challenges, using clues hidden in their answers to uncover a set of secret words. If they find every secret word before time runs out, they win.

What devices should my students use?

Dingo Punks works on just about anything with an internet connection. Chromebooks, iPads, laptops, desktops, tablets, phones, smart boards, smart TVs, and classroom displays can all work, so use whatever you already have.

What kind of prep is required?

Pretty much none! Give each team one device, plus some scratch paper and pencils, and you’re ready to play.

How do I differentiate?

After students enter a game code, they’ll see a quick setup screen before the game begins. You can adjust the number of players, number of challenges, time limit, and hints.

Many Dingo Punks escape rooms also come in different versions for each grade level, so you can use the same theme with different levels of academic difficulty.

Where can I view my students' results?

When students finish an escape room, they’ll see a Score screen with their results. You can review everything right there on the device they used to play.

Because students don’t create accounts, there isn’t a centralized results dashboard. Results are viewed on a per-game basis, which helps me keep the student experience simple and privacy-friendly.

Where is the answer key?

If you purchased an individual escape room from my shop or Teachers Pay Teachers, visit the answer key page and enter your game code.

If you have a Dingo Punks account, go to the Shared tab, click Info on the escape room, then select Answer Key.

Why can't my students play a Bonus Mission?

Bonus Missions are a perk of the All-Access plan. If you’re using the Starter plan or an individually purchased escape room, you’ll need to upgrade to All-Access to unlock this feature.

Game Codes

What is a game code?

A game code is a 5-character code required to play a Dingo Punks escape room. Each escape room has its own unique code.

Can I reuse a game code?

Of course! A game code is yours to reuse, as many times as you want, with every student you teach.

Where do I find my game code?

If you have a Dingo Punks account, log in and click Share on any escape room to create and view its game code.

If you purchased an individual escape room from my shop, your game code is included in the PDF emailed to you.

If you purchased through Teachers Pay Teachers, your game code is included in the PDF available from your My Purchases page.

Classroom Use

Can I use the same escape room with multiple classes?

Absolutely! Your license follows you, not a particular class or school. You can use it with any students you personally teach, tutor, instruct, or supervise, across different classes, schools, and years.

Can I share my game code with another teacher?

No. Your game codes are licensed to you and can’t be shared or transferred to another educator for their own use. The only exception is a substitute, co-teacher, or similar educator facilitating on your behalf.

Can I send a game code home with students?

No. Your game codes are for students you’re teaching or supervising and can’t be shared with families for independent use at home. If a parent wants to use Dingo Punks independently, they’ll need to purchase their own game code.

Privacy and Accessibility

Do you collect any student information?

Students never create accounts, and we do not collect any personal information such as names, email addresses, student IDs, answers, scores, saved progress, or student profiles.

The student-facing game processes only limited technical information needed to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve Dingo Punks. We do not sell data or use student information for targeted advertising, marketing, or commercial profiling.

You can read more in our Privacy Policy.

Are Dingo Punks escape rooms accessible?

We work to make Dingo Punks usable by as many students as reasonably possible, but escape rooms are highly visual, interactive, puzzle-based experiences. Some mechanics, such as hidden clues, patterns, color distinctions, spatial relationships, or timed challenges, may create barriers for some students or assistive technologies.
