Licensing

The Short Version

  1. When you buy an escape room, you get a unique game code. Your students enter that code at play.dingopunks.com to play.
  2. You can use that code with your students as often as you'd like. There's no limit — use it every year, as long as you're the one teaching.
  3. Your game code is confidential. You may only share it with your students, or with a substitute or co-teacher working on your behalf.

This summary is for your convenience; the full policy below still applies.

Overview

When you purchase a Dingo Punks escape room, you receive a single-educator license along with a unique game code. This code allows you and your students to access the game through our online platform at play.dingopunks.com.

License Scope

Each license is issued to one educator (you) and covers only the students that you personally teach. Your game code may only be used during your active sessions: live, real-time class periods in which you are present and facilitating.

Sharing and Transfers

This license may not be shared with or transferred to anyone. This includes, but is not limited to, other teachers, staff, grade-level teams, schools, districts, parents, and students acting outside of an active session. If multiple educators wish to use the same escape room, each must purchase their own license.

A substitute or co-teacher may facilitate gameplay in your classroom on your behalf and may be given your game code for that purpose. However, the license itself may not be transferred.

Game Code Confidentiality

Your game code is confidential and may not be shared with anyone outside of active classroom sessions. The only exceptions are a substitute or co-teacher facilitating on your behalf. This means your game code may not be shared verbally, digitally, or in writing. This includes (but is not limited to) posting on social media, blogs, shared drives, school websites, group chats, or online marketplaces.

Home Access

Families who require independent home access for their child must purchase their own license. Educators may not distribute their game code to families for this purpose.

Sharing and Social Media

We love seeing Dingo Punks in your classroom! You're welcome to share photos, short clips, and screenshots of gameplay for promotional or review purposes (blogs, social media, TikTok, etc.). However, shared content must not reveal game codes, and must not be detailed enough for someone to play or recreate the game.

Rights

This license grants the right to access and play the game, not ownership of the content. All Dingo Punks games and materials remain the property of Ethan Dirks Inc. Access is provided while the Dingo Punks platform remains live, and availability may be modified or discontinued at our sole discretion.

Changes and Contact

This licensing policy is effective as of 8/07/2023. Last updated 3/27/2026. Licensing terms are subject to change. For any questions about licensing, please contact hello@dingopunks.com.

Public Marketplace Listings

The standard Dingo Punks license covers use for public marketplace listings (such as Outschool) at no extra cost. However, these additional terms must be followed:

1. One license = one listing. Each license covers a single marketplace listing and may not be used across multiple listings simultaneously. If you wish to use the same escape room across multiple listings, you must purchase an additional license for each listing.

2. Register your listing with us. It's easy — just send a link to your listing, along with the escape room(s) you're using, to hello@dingopunks.com within 14 days of publishing.

Failure to comply may result in license revocation and appropriate action under copyright law.
